Southend Council’s ‘Digital Strategy 2017/2020’ aimed to transform Southend into a Smart City. Central to this was the creation of an Intelligence Hub, a 24/7 service response centre built on existing CCTV infrastructure.

Following a successful BID renewal vote in July 2022, Love Uxbridge quickly launched their first major project: a new Smart Radio system. This upgrade expanded coverage, improved audio quality, and introduced powerful analytics to support the BID team.

Dacorum Borough Council, with a history of CCTV services and monitoring the Shopwatch system in Hemel Hempstead, seized a move to a new location as an opportunity to rethink their strategy. They aimed to cut costs, expand services, and explore new revenue streams.

West Suffolk faced a dilemma: build and staff a new control room or outsource the responsibility. They opted to provide the service in-house, but needed to streamline their systems and generate an income to offset monitoring costs.
