Radio, crime intelligence and every word said in between, from the only provider that does all of it. ShopSafe connects retailers and licensed premises with each other, the police and CCTV for Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), Business Crime Reduction Partnerships (BCRPs) and Shopwatch, Townlink and Pubwatch schemes, and runs the scheme for you.

Partnerships bring businesses, the police and CCTV together to tackle it. But the pressure on every scheme is growing.

Radio schemes and reporting apps fall out of use when they are slow or awkward, and low usage weakens the whole partnership.
Alert keeps reporting to about 60 seconds. Signal shows who is using their radio and who has gone quiet, so you know who to call.
Most of what members report happens on the radio. Nobody has time to listen back through hours of calls.
Signal records and transcribes every call and groups them into incidents, so sightings and patterns are kept.
Levy payers and boards want evidence the scheme works, and renewal ballots depend on it.
Signal and Alert report calls, incidents, repeat offenders and member activity, ready for board meetings.
“At the moment there is no realistic way I can listen back through radio traffic every day, or even every week, so there is probably a lot of useful information being lost.”
Rich Lane, Head of Operations and Business Crime, It’s In Nottingham
When members use the scheme, it works. Love Newmarket BID’s town ambassador took Alert from 36 users to 207, and one report now sets off 207 devices across the town. A shared image led to a named suspect and a successful prosecution.
Radio and Alert are what members use every day. Signal joins them together. Our managed service keeps it all running.

Signal records every call on your radio network, transcribes it, and uses AI to group calls into incidents. Every sighting is kept, and every member’s radio use is visible. It is included at no cost with every ShopSafe community safety radio system.
“It could also help us show the value of the radios much better. It gives us some actual evidence to show members and the Board what the scheme is doing.”
Rich Lane, Head of Operations and Business Crime, It’s In Nottingham
Radio companies sell the handsets and the network. Sharing software companies sell an app. Buy from both and you get two contracts and a radio network that never talks to your intelligence. ShopSafe does the whole job.
Radio, control room dispatch, crime intelligence, body-worn video and the managed service from one supplier with one support team.
We are the only radio company with an in-house software development division. That is how we built Signal: we run both the radio platform and Alert, and our own team joins them together.
ShopSafe ONE is our own device, designed to work with radio, Dispatch, Alert and Signal from the start.

“Some” marks features individual competitors may offer in part.
Neither type of competitor makes its own device. ShopSafe ONE is ours, so it works with everything else: it talks on the radio network, streams to Dispatch, and uploads evidence straight into Alert, where footage becomes incidents and offender profiles.
BIDs and BCRPs running ShopSafe today, in their own words.
Nottingham’s BID runs the full ShopSafe system. Its security provider carries radios, body cameras and Alert, and is sent to the hotspots the incidents reveal.

ShopSafe provides the full community safety system for Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) and Business Crime Reduction Partnerships (BCRPs): 4G smart radios and CCTV control room dispatch, Signal radio call recording and AI incident detection, the Alert crime intelligence platform, ShopSafe ONE body cameras, and a managed service that runs the scheme. It is used by partnerships including It’s In Nottingham, Liverpool BID Company, Love Newmarket BID, Chelmsford BID and Safer Business Network in London.
Yes. Shopwatch, Townlink, Pubwatch and night-time economy radio schemes all run on ShopSafe radio, with the same Signal, Alert and managed service as a BID or BCRP scheme. We can take over an existing scheme and move members across.
Yes. Councils use ShopSafe to connect their CCTV control rooms to local businesses, and to support community safety partnerships alongside BIDs and the police. St Albans CCTV control room, for example, shares what it sees with ShopSafe members across the district.
Yes. We move members onto ShopSafe radios and Alert, handle the sign-ups and agreements, and train members on site. Liverpool BID Company replaced its existing system with Alert across the city.
Reporting in Alert takes about 60 seconds, and organisations see a 350% increase in reporting compared with legacy platforms. In Newmarket, users grew from 36 to 207. Signal shows which radios have gone quiet so your team can follow up.
On the managed option we handle member sign-ups, hire agreements, invoicing, faulty kit and 24/7 support. On Alert Managed, our analysts also run your intelligence: incident and offender data, intelligence packs, compliance and member growth.
ShopSafe is ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials certified. Facial matching is configured in line with your DPIA and can be limited to set areas. Each partnership sets how long Signal keeps recordings and which region they are hosted in, and a person reviews anything the AI flags before it reaches Alert.
Officers can have access to Alert and see what members report as it happens, at no cost to the force. Businesses report once instead of twice, and police can share wanted offenders and CBO conditions back to members. Suffolk, Nottinghamshire, Essex and Hertfordshire police all work this way.
Signal reports radio calls, incidents, high-priority reports and sightings of banned people, and Alert reports incidents, offenders and member activity. Reports export to PDF and Excel and can be emailed on a schedule.
It depends on the size of the scheme, which Alert package you choose, and whether radios are managed by us or by the partnership, hired or bought. Signal is included at no cost with every community safety radio system. Book a demo and we will put together options for your scheme.
We’ll show you the panic button reaching the control room, a day of radio traffic in Signal, and an incident going out to every member in Alert.
